Town of Denton - ABSENTEE BALLOTS

ABSENTEE BALLOTS FOR

DENTON TOWN ELECTION

 

 

Registered voters who wish to vote by absentee ballot must request their ballot by October 19, 2007, in accordance with the Denton Code.

 

Chapter 10, Article I, of the Denton Code reads as follows:

 

The following persons may vote as absentee voters in Town elections under this Article:

 

A.  Any qualified voter in the town who may be unavoidably absent from the town for any reason on any town election day.

 

B.  Any qualified voter of the town whose physical disability confines him (or her) to his home or will otherwise prevent him (or her) from being present and personally voting at the polls on any town election day.

 

Chapter 10 (as amended by Ordinance #330) further reads:

 

A qualified voter of the town desiring to vote at any town election as an absentee voter shall make application in writing to the Town Clerk for an absentee ballot, which application must be received not later than seventeen (17) calendar days before the election.

 

To make application, please include date of request, reason for request as indicated above, signature of applicant, and address of applicant.

 

All absentee ballots must be returned to the Denton Town Office, Judges of Election, 13 North Third Street, Denton, Maryland  21629, before the closing of the polls (8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2007) in order to be considered valid.
