Ordinance #577, an ordinance to appropriate funds and estimate income in accordance with the budget adopted for fiscal year beginning July 1, 2009 and ending June 30, 2010 set forth the following tax rates.
This ordinance introduced April 6, 2009 and was adopted May 18, 2009.
Rates of Taxation on Real Property
The rate of taxation on real property to be taxed within the boundaries of the Town of Denton, Maryland for Fiscal Year 2010 has been established as Sixty Four Cents ($.64) on each one hundred ($100.00) of value for the fiscal year beginning July 1 of each year.
Rate of Taxation on Business Personal Property
The rate of taxation on any personal property to be taxed by the Town of Denton is hereby established as One Dollar and Fifty Cents ($1.50) on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation.
Rate of Taxation on Railroad and Utility Property
The rate of taxation on any railroad and utility property to be taxed by the Town of Denton is established as One Dollar and Seventy Cents ($1.70) on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation.
Service and Administration Fee collected by Caroline County Treasurers Office
That the rate of service and administrative fees on semi-annual billings assessed by the Caroline County Treasurers Office shall be established as .99% Service Fee and 10% Administrative Fee.

The Town of Denton does not provide any abatements that are not authorized by the State of Maryland. All real property taxes are billed annually and collected by the Caroline County Treasurer's Office.
