Town of Denton Comprehensive Rezoning update
The Town of Denton's Planning Commission and planning staff are currently updating Chapters 128 "Zoning" and 73 "Land Subdivision" of the Denton Town Code. Code updates are changes that reflect consistency with the Denton 2010 Comprehensive Plan and other code updates. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation to the Town Council concerning the Comprehensive Rezoning at the August 31, 2010 meeting to be held at the Denton Police Department, 6:00 p.m. The Town Council will hold a public hearing on the Comprehensive Rezoning at the September 13, 2010 meeting at the Denton Police Department at 7:00 p.m. Copies of the proposed rezoning can be viewed at the Town of Denton Planning and Codes Department, 13 North Third Street between 8:30 a.m - 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
Town Office Closure
Monday August 23 the Denton Town Office will be closed. We will resume our normal business hours Tuesday August 24. Thank you for your cooperation.
Proposed Amendment to the Town of Denton 2010 Comprehensive Plan
An amendment to the Town of Denton 2010 Comprehensive Plan can be viewed at the link above. The proposed amendement consists of a change in zoning to one parcel located at 808 S. 5th Avenue, approximately 5.6 acres. The current zoning is Suburban Residential and the proposed zoning is Regional Highway Commercial. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation of the proposed change at the August 31, 2010 meeting. A public hearing for the amendment will be held at the Town Council meeting, located at the Denton Police Department at 7:00 p.m. on September 13, 2010.
Public Notice - Special Meeting
The Denton Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, 6:00 p.m., at the Denton Town Office, to discuss an amendment to the 2010 Comprehensive Plan.

Town of Denton 2010 Comprehensive Plan
The revised Town of Denton Comprehensive Plan was recommended for approval by the Denton Planning Commission on June 29, 2010. The Plan was adopted by the Denton Town Council on July 12, 2010. A copy of the plan may be viewed at the link above.
