Town of Denton - Police Department ![]() ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Denton Police Department consists of ten sworn Police Officers and one civilian Administrative Aid. The Department patrols the town and answers calls for service 24 hours a day. Administrative hours are from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday, closed on holidays. To contact a patrol officer after business hours call the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office at 410-479-2515 and request to have a Denton Officer return your call. MISSION STATEMENT: As members of the Denton Police Department, we are committed to the concepts of community oriented policing and serving our citizens, the law-abiding public, appropriately, completely and professionally. We shall work diligently to achieve our principle organizational goal, the protection of the lives and property of the citizens of our town using contemporary technology and professionally accepted procedures. We recognize and respect the rights of all individuals including victims, suspects and accused persons. In those instances in which criminal conduct has occurred, we shall endeavor to uniformly apply our efforts to identify, apprehend and prosecute the perpetrator regardless of the identity, age, sex, race, religion, national origin or social status of the victim or the accused. Where possible our focus shall be on the prevention of violations of the criminal and traffic laws. Accordingly, working in partnerships with our fellow citizens, we shall provide a consistently high quality of police service to all individuals in a manner that conforms to professional standards; the laws of the State of Maryland; and the priorities and values of the community we serve. The only meaningful measure of our success is the level of satisfaction of our citizens. BIKE REGISTRATION: The Denton Police Department provides bike registration for the residents of the Town of Denton. Residents may either bring the bicycle to the police department or obtain a bike registration form. Once the completed registration form is received, the department will issue a registration number, which is mailed to the owner of the bicycle and is to be placed on the bicycle for identification. FINGERPRINTING: The Denton Police Department will do fingerprinting for the public every Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The subject must bring photo identification. This service is free to the residents of the Town of Denton, all others will be charged a $10.00 fee per card. Animal Control:
