CANCELLED -Veterans Parade – November 13, 2020

On Friday, November 13th, at 5:30 p.m., the first annual “Denton Honors Our Veterans” parade will march up Market Street and culminate at the Town Hall where an “Honor Ceremony” will be held.  “The sole purpose of this event is to honor local Veterans”, said Royce Ball, co-founder of the Mid Shore Veterans Group. “No one associated with this event has any other agenda”.

Ball went on to say that the Honor Ceremony would be short, however it will be a striking salute to Veterans, to thank them and their families for their service and sacrifices made on our behalf.  “No amount of tribute can ever be enough to acknowledge what our Veterans and their families have given us”’ Ball says, “but we can let them know we will never forget”.

It is hoped that we can get all of the local Veteran groups such as the American Legion, VFW’s and more to participate as well as the fire and police departments, local officials, classic cars,  bagpipers and so much more.  It is also hoped to have a local Veteran participate as Grand Marshall, and have a local Veteran as keynote speaker.  The town will be decorated with light pole banners depicting local heroes past and present.

“Our biggest hope”, says Ball, “is that we can get every local Veteran to march in the parade, and if nothing else, join us at the Town Hall for the Honor Ceremony.  Veterans should contact us so we know how many to plan for.”

The event is looking to be a landmark event for Veterans in the local area, thanks to incredible support from the Town of Denton.  For more information or to apply to be in the parade email, or call Royce at 443.995.5908, and leave a message.
