To better serve you, the Maryland Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Insurance has created the UI PEAK Customer Service Unit.




The UI PEAK Customer Service Unit will capture constituent concerns from legislative and governmental offices and resolve those concerns quickly and efficiently.






Made up of three seasoned unemployment insurance representatives, PEAK replaces the Inquiry & Correspondence Unit. Wayne Cooper, a familiar face from Inquiry & Correspondence, will supervise the new unit.

The Department of Labor is committed to helping Marylanders navigate their career pathway. While the UI PEAK Customer Service Unit streamlines the UI resolution process so your constituents can focus on getting back to work, our free workforce development services will guide them on the path to a rewarding career. Our 30 American Job Centers – located throughout the state – provide a full range of FREE assistance to job seekers and businesses, such as placement services, résumé preparation, and job skill and readiness workshops. Find the job centers in your jurisdiction at

The UI PEAK Customer Service Unit is ready to assist you and your customers with UI concerns. Effective today, April 16, 2018, please forward your constituent UI concerns to the points of contact below. The phone number you have used in the past (410-767-3246) will now forward directly to the UI claims centers, who can assist with direct-from-constituent UI questions.
